The teams will battle it out in a round-robin format and the top 5 teams combined from Groups A and B will make it to the quarter-finals. The top 5 teams are determined by the total points they have. The two teams that top the points table in Group C and the top team from Group D will also make it to the quarter-finals.

Chance For Fringe Players To Shine

The Vijay Hazare Trophy is one of the most important domestic tournaments in Indian cricket. This tournament provides fringe players a great opportunity to shine and make a name for themselves as the tournament gets a lot of attention from IPL scouts as well as the BCCI.

The national selectors usually keep a close watch on players who perform well and tend to pick them for the Indian A team. IPL selectors also make note of potential players who they should watch out for in the auction.

A number of players who have played for India and have been dropped will get an opportunity to see if they can make their way back to the national squad. Players like A Rayudu, K Jadhav, M Vijay and D Karthik will need to make a strong statement.

There are also players like KL Rahul, R Pant, N Saini and K Ahmed who can make the most of this tournament to show the selectors that they have found form once again as their performances in recent games for India has not been up to par.
