Ratings For Each Indian Player’s Performance In Second Test Against England

India were humiliated in the second test match against England at Lords. Their battling line-up was exposed by Anderson and Broad which saw India lose by an innings and 159 runs. They are now 2-0 down in a 5 match series. We take a look at the performance of all 11 players in this test.

Murali Vijay: M Vijay was rated as India’s best overseas opener at the start of this tour. He got a golden duck in this test match and his place in the third test is now under a cloud. Rating (1/10)

KL Rahul: was preferred over S Dhawan but he has done very little in repaying the selectors for the faith showed in him. He will also be lucky if he keeps his place in the third test. Rating (1/10)

C Pujara: was once again run out in the first innings and but will retain his spot in the third test after battling it out in the second innings. Rating (4/10)

V Kohli: was suffering from back spasms but is confident he will play the third test. This will be a test he will want to forget soon but once again looked like the best batsman in the side. He will also need to work on his captaincy and do better when the team is put under pressure. Rating (5/10)

A Rahane: has failed to deliver yet again. As the vice-captain, Rahane needs to lead the way but has looked horribly out of form. There’s no one to replace him as of now and he will most likely play the third test. Rating (2/10)

D Karthik: made just 1 run in two innings. He has been given multiple chances over the years and has disappointed yet again. Might be time to replace him and try out young R Pant in the third test. Rating (1/10)

H Pandya: justified his place in the squad by picking up 3 wickets and being the second highest scorer in the second innings. Rating (6/10)

R Ashwin: wasn’t able to pick up wickets on a pitch that was seamer friendly. However, he was the highest scorer for India in both innings and it might be time for the team to push him up the order. Rating (7/10)

K Yadav: shouldn’t have been picked for the second test considering the conditions. He did not pick up any wickets. Rating (1/10)

M Shami: picked up 3 wickets in the first innings and was very expensive. Rating (3/10)

I Sharma: did not deliver when the team needed him to and turned out to be very expensive. Rating (1/10)
