New Zealand Have A Great Opportunity To Pull Off T20 Series Win Over India On Nov 7

New Zealand played exceptionally well in the second T20 at Rajkot on November 4 as they outclassed the Indians in all three departments and won by a comfortable margin of 40 runs. The 3 match T20 series is now tied at one apiece and the final T20 on Nov 7 at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram will be a final where the winner will walk away with the championship and the series.

New Zealand Have The Edge

This is a great opportunity for New Zealand to finish their tour on a high and walk away with a series win. The Kiwis have the edge as their confidence will be high after a thumping victory over the Indians and know that they are strong in all departments when it comes to T20 cricket.

Colin Munro proved to be the biggest difference at Rajkot as he smashed his second T20 century of the year and then sent down 3 economical overs and picked up one wicket. Munro will want to continue his form in Thiruvananthapuram but even if he goes early, the Kiwis have a powerful batting line-up that can take them past 180 easily. Their bowlers have also showed that they can restrict the Indians and take wickets. T Boult has bowled beautifully throughout the tour and Sodhi has got India’s latest sensation H Pandya bamboozled.

India Must Make Changes

While India has shown in the past that they do not like to chop and change after a defeat, they must change their playing eleven for the final T20. They will have to drop M Siraj who made his debut at Rajkot and conceded 53 runs in his four overs and allowed New Zealand to reach a big total. They should also think about dropping SS Iyer who looked flustered batting in the second T20 when the pressure was on. Ivey has also dropped catches in both the first and second T20 and could be a liability in a pressure game.

India will do well to bring in KL Rahul at number four as he has the temperament and the shots to be a match winner on his day. In the bowling department, it will be interesting to see if Kohli is willing to give Y Chahal another chance and play three spinners or if he drops Siraj and brings in KL Rahul as a replacement and trust H Pandya to be the fifth bowler.
