Defending Champions the Sunrisers have three wins and two defeats so far this season and at first glance, it’s not too hard to see where their issues lie. Those two losses have been on the road while all three wins have been at home in Hyderabad so David Warner’s men will be pleased to be hosting again on Wednesday.
Delhi have surprised us with their resilience and were unlucky not to secure a third straight win against KKR so they will provide some threat in this match.
Form between these two is evenly balanced but the Sunrisers lead the result betting by some margin at 1.70 with Betfair. Anyone looking to back the Daredevils will therefore find odds of 2.20 with Bet365.
Will home advantage be enough to carry SRH to the win? Previous results suggest it might but the good news from the game against Kings XI was the form of their two key players, Warner and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Warner with 70 and Bhuvi with 5/19 were exceptional although there was little support from the remaining batsmen.
It’s not a clear one this but based on form and the Sunrisers’ home record, I’m staying with the hosts.
Match Odds Summary: Sunrisers Hyderabad 1.70 (Betfair – Editor’s Pick), Delhi Daredevils 2.20 (Bet365).
You won’t always get a profit when you back David Warner but he’s delivered it three times in five games now so there’s no reason to stop betting with the Aussie left hander. His price will shorten and for Wednesday he goes off at 3.00 with Betfair but Warner remains my selection.
Elsewhere, Yuvraj has top scored in the remaining two games and is a good option at 6.00 with Bet365 while Shikhar Dhawan at 4.50 with Bet365 and Moises Henriques at 5.00 with Bet365 will also attract some interest.
For Delhi, there are some good prices, including the favourite Sanju Samson who is in good form but out at a best of 4.00 with Bet365. Sam Billings has a half century in this year’s tournament without finding any consistency and he is further back at 4.20 with Betfair. With no outstanding option in this Daredevils line up, I would be looking at Rishabh Pant who top scored in Delhi’s first game of IPL 10 and is quoted for Wednesday’s match at 6.00 with Bet365.
Top Batsman Odds Summary: Sunrisers Hyderabad: Warner 3.00 (Betfair – Editor’s Pick), Dhawan 4.50 (Bet365), Henriques 5.00 (Bet365), Yuvraj 6.00 (Bet365).
Delhi Daredevils: Samson 4.00 (Bet365), Billings 4.20 (Betfair), Pant 6.00 (Bet365).
Other Side Bets
If you’ve been following these updates then you’ll know that we’ve taken some good profits on Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the Sunrisers’ Top Bowler markets and that’s where we’re heading again. Despite giving the return here in the last three games, Kumar retains a very good price of 4.33 with Bet365.
Rashid Khan has been impressive and can also be picked up at 4.33 with Bet365 while the Fizz – Mustafizur Rahman – has yet to find his 2016 form and is a little further back at 4.50 with Bet365. Along with Ashish Nehra at 5.50 with Betfair, those are your remaining options but why change a winning formula?
Sunrisers Hyderabad Top Bowler Market: Kumar 4.33 (Bet365 – Editor’s Pick), Khan 4.33 (Bet365), Rahman 4.50 (Bet365), Nehra 5.50 (Betfair).
As they often do, I think that the Sunrisers’ bowlers hold the key to this game with the seamers, plus the leg spinner comprising arguably the best attack at the tournament. I’m concerned that Warner is receiving little support in the batting department but while Delhi have impressed, I feel that they will decline as the competition develops so it’s another home win for the Sunrisers.
